April is going to be a pivotal month in the rollout of the Nederland/ Timberline Fire Protection District (TFPD) Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). A draft of the plan is being finished by a core team of stakeholders and will be released in the middle of April.
Kirin Riddell of the Boulder Watershed Collective, which is overseeing the project, writes that the plan will be released for public comment in mid-April. There will be a two-week period for public review, and a two-week period for the core team to read through the public comments. The final draft of the CWPP is scheduled to be released in mid-May.
Riddell will be updating the CWPP Storymap, the website that the Colorado Watershed Collective uses for a blog for the project, when the plan is released (search term: Storymap Nederland and Timberline). The Storymap will also be updated to contain a streamlined version of the content from the CWPP when the final version is released in mid-May.
For more information about the Nederland/TFPD CWPP, contact Riddel (kirin@boulderwatershedcollective.org); the Administrative Chief of Timberline, Jennifer Hinderman (jhinderman@timberlinefire.com); or the Nederland Fire District Administrator Sherry Synder (ssnyder@nederlandfire.org).
