The Town of Nederland held a special election on July 30, 2024, to decide if the town would permit TEENS, Inc. to operate a private child care center on 750 W. 5th Street in Nederland, a lot that is zoned public and which is owned by the town.
After much discussion and public debate, the unofficial election results, which The Mountain-Ear has obtained at the time of going to press, has 418 “YES” votes and 162 “NO” votes. “Yes” means the voter is in support of TEENS, Inc. building a child care center at 750 W. 5th Street, while “No” means the voter does not support TEENS, Inc. building a child care center at 750 W. 5th Street.
