Nederland Yoga Studio begins reopening

Posted

Lester Karplus, Nederland. Tadasana Mountain Yoga studio, a stalwart member of the Nederland community for almost a decade, cracked open its doors for limited in person classes on September 28, 2020. This comes as welcome news for many in the local yoga community.

Yoga Needed More than Ever

According to a survey by the CDC, in late June of this year anxiety disorders had tripled over the prior year while depression had increased four-fold. It was reported then that 41% of adults “reported an adverse mental or behavioral health condition.”

While many folks agree that yoga is great for flexibility and fitness, the meditative component of yoga enhances the physical to provide a calming and regenerative state of mind. 2020 has produced many tough challenges and yet the antidote is just around the corner. According to Medical News Today newsletter, many studies link a yoga practice to lowered stress.

Tadasana Prepped for a Safe
In-Person Experience

During this pandemic, Tadasana Mountain Yoga has remained physically closed. Classes have been streamed online and the Yoga in the Park program provided a limited outdoor distanced opportunity for an in-person experience. As the weather changes and as more folks want a safe indoor experience, yogista and owner Dianna Underhill has been busy reshaping the studio to accommodate this quasi-back-to-normal environment.

After much research and discussion with  health authorities and engineers, Diana reached the conclusion that not only was screening, distancing and masks required but a reduction in class size to eight students and a schedule that allowed proper sanitation between classes with no overlap of students. But of most importance was an upgrade to the studios ventilation system. The system developed by GPS is the only 3rd party certified system. It is the same one used in many hospitals, universities and government buildings. (Check out the full Covid-19 policies on the website).

Not Ready for In-Person?

According to Diana, the studio will still be offering the recorded class library on-line plus a selection of live-stream classes of the in-person experiences. So, if you need to start destressing and get all the physical benefits of yoga, Tadasana Mountain Yoga is ready to help you on your journey. Go to tadasanamountainyoga.com to signup.
