Staff accolades. A few people transitioned into leadership roles within Town over the past few months, so I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out and celebrate each one of them.
COVID-19 update. Vaccinations. Vaccination clinics dates at Ned Community Center every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
COVID Tests and Vaccine shots AND flu shots are free. For the vaccination, however, people must register at www.p2phhs.org or call 303-578-8033. Boosters are available to anyone who had their second shot at least 6 months ago (2 months for J&J) and all clinics will now have boosters as well as first and second doses.
COVID testing. Testing has been moved to Mondays at the Nederland Community Center from 4-7 p.m. Preregistration is not required but helpful: https://www.affinityecarecolorado.com/ co/. For help call 303-578-8033.
PPE. Town still has hand sanitizer available. Please stop by Town Hall anytime Monday – Friday 9 a,m. – 5 p.m. to pick these items up!
Town Hall hours. Due to the rise and changes in COVID cases recently, Town Hall has changed our office hours in order to help keep our staff and community healthy. For the time being, Town Hall’s hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday; Monday & Friday by appointment only. Roadmap to recovery. The regional team met on February 8, 2022 and discussed the high-level goals and specific areas of focus:
• High Level Goals
• Diversity in local economy.
• Development of equitable housing and workforce opportunities.
• Provide access to public services.
• Create resilient natural and social environments. Specific areas of focus: • Broadband. • Affordable housing. • Wildfire mitigation.
Cross & Caribou Mine collaborative meeting. The Town will be working with Boulder County to develop a website page that will house factual information about the Cross and Caribou Mine, as well as information on how to submit questions, concerns, or complaints to the appropriate personnel.
Intermountain Alliance Wildfire Mitigation Subcommittee. The Intermountain Alliance (IMA) formed a wildfire mitigation subcommittee that consists of Town staff, members from Peak-to-Peak fire departments, Wild Bear, and the Boulder Watershed Collective. Areas of focus include:
• Representative Neguse’s Wildfire
Prevention and Recovery Bill
• Securing grant funding for the Big
Springs Egress project.
• Social media campaigns related to wildfire mitigation.
• Programs encouraging property owners to establish a defensible space.
• Updating the Colorado Wildfire
Protection Plan.
