Megan Hess has been attending Nederland schools since the fourth grade. She is passionate about art, environmental activism, Nordic skiing, music, and dance.
In the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades, she participated in Nordic skiing and the Student Council. By the eleventh and twelfth grades, Megan became part of the 360 Peer Leaders and President of Nederland High School, adding cross country in the twelfth grade to round out her involvement at Nederland Middle Senior High School (NMSHS).
Megan has been working as the social media manager at the Backdoor Theatre, at the City of Boulder Youth Rangers, and at Head in the Clouds Cotton Candy, which she co-owns with her friend Ande Hammers.
Her favorite class in high school was the Science Research Seminar with Mr. Real. Her favorite NMSHS teachers and staff include Alberto Real, Theresa Redmon, Scott Sanders, Scott Geels, and coaches Dan and Elaine Vardamis.
Megan has received a Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) scholarship and achievement award. She plans to attend Montana State University to study architecture. She hopes to become a sustainable urban architect and one day start a firm.
Megan will miss all the teachers and friends she’s had over the past nine years. She would like to say, “Thank you to BTS!”
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation, Megan!
