On 8/31/21, a Nederland officer initiated a traffic stop with an individual who was driving 47 mph in a 15 mph zone on Big Springs Drive near Conger Street. The individual was issued a summons to appear in Nederland Municipal Court for the infraction. On 9/2/21, the same individual eluded the Boulder Police Department while on the traffic stop. The same Nederland officer contacted the individual with two Boulder County Sheriff’s deputies at his residence on Alpine Drive. The Boulder Police officer responded to the scene and cited the individual for the traffic infraction and eluding.
On 9/2/21, Nederland Police took a report of a suspect that may have been in violation of possession of a handgun when he brought it to a NFPD training. The date had not been provided by NPFD to determine if there was a violation or not.
On 9/2/21, a Nederland officer responded to the B & F Mountain Market located at 60 Lakeview Drive on a report of a cold disturbance. The officer spoke with store staff who requested a former employee be trespassed from the store after the employee caused a disturbance that morning at approximately 7:15 a.m.
On 9/3/21, a Nederland officer met with a possible victim of domestic violence at the Nederland Police Department. After meeting with the reporting party, it was determined that no crime occurred. Various other resources were offered. While speaking about the resources, it was uncovered that a crime might have occurred in another jurisdiction, the officer made a referral to that jurisdiction.
On 9/3/21, a Nederland officer responded to cover a Boulder County Sheriff’s deputy on a report of a menacing that occurred at the 36000 block of Highway 72. Initial information was a male in a gold sedan with Oregon license plates. The Nederland officer located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop and detained the suspect. The deputy contacted the reporting party and victim and interviewed them. He also interviewed the suspect and issued him a summons to appear for menacing and harassment.
On 9/5/21, Nederland Police was dispatched to a report of a theft from a local business. The suspect was located, a report was completed and the suspect was trespassed from the business.
On 9/5/21, a vehicle accident was reported to the Nederland Police Department. Officers responded and investigated. The driver determined to be at fault was cited.
On 9/5/21, a Nederland officer responded to an active disturbance at Ned’s Restaurant located at 121 S Jefferson Street in Nederland. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the suspect, the victims, and the restaurant staff. It was determined a transient female harassed a family, specifically a grandmother caring for her 4-year-old grandson. The suspect was cited and summoned to appear in Nederland Municipal Court.
On 9/5/21, Nederland Police responded to various locations in downtown Nederland tracking down what numerous reporting parties reported as an intoxicated male party causing disturbances at multiple businesses; including but not limited to the Smoker Friendly, the Sinclair, and Peak Wine & Spirits. Nederland officers arrested the individual and charged him with disorderly conduct for his actions. He is summoned to appear in Nederland Municipal Court. He was treated by the Nederland Fire Department and transported by AMR to a local hospital to receive treatment.
On 9/5/21, a Nederland officer responded to 45 Alpine Drive on a report of a cold burglary. Upon arrival, the residence was cleared for safety and documented and processed for evidence by Nederland Police with assistance from Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. The residents said they had been gone for a month and returned home to find the upstairs bathtub overflowing with water penetrating all three levels of the house causing damage. Also, various items throughout the residence were stolen. The Nederland Police Department is actively investigating.
On 9/7/21, a Nederland officer responded to S Jackson Street in response to an incident that occurred near the intersection of W Boulder Street and S Johnson Street. The female reporting party stated another female nearly hit her with her truck as she was walking her dogs near W Boulder Street and S Johnson Street.
9/11/21, a Nederland officer responded to a Hit and Run in the area of Highway 72 and Highway 119. The officer located the vehicle at the address it was registered to and observed damage to the vehicle. During the following investigation, it was determined the driver was in the residence. Due to prior knowledge, the officer was able to confirm there was a current protection order in place restraining the party from the residence. The party was arrested for Violation of Protection order and two Boulder County warrants.
On 9/11/21, Nederland Police took a report about a 31 year old male suspect who violated a protection order, committed criminal mischief and criminal tampering, and was in violation of his bond condition by being intoxicated.
9/28/21, Nederland Police took a report from a victim whose driver’s side window was shattered and her dog was taken from the car and thrown several feet. The suspect’s boyfriend was having a mental health crisis of a manic bi-polar episode for the past month. The female received minor cuts from the glass, which did not require medical treatment. A victim’s advocate was paged to call the victim.
