On 10/4/21, a hit and run was reported to the Nederland Police Department. Through an investigation, the suspect was located and cited.
On 10/5/21, an incident of possible child abuse was reported to the Nederland Police Department. After an investigation, it was determined the incident was not criminal and the situation was mediated.
On 10/6/21, an incident of harassment was reported to the Nederland Police Department. The incident was investigated and a report completed.
On 10/6/21, a Toyota 4 Runner was towed from W. Pine. The vehicle had been abandoned for 6-12 months or more.
On 10/7/21, a Town of Nederland Vehicle was struck in a parking lot on private property in the City and County of Boulder. Insurance information was exchanged. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the other driver was at fault.
On 10/9/21, Nederland Police investigated an unemployment scam related to Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) filed through the State of Ohio using a Nederland resident’s information. No suspect information is known.
On 10/9/21, a Nederland officer responded to Hess Road for an Outside Agency Assist to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office also responded. Initial reports were of a woman in distress in a nearby residence who might be a victim of domestic violence. No contact was able to be made with the suspect or victim.
On 10/10/21, a Nederland Police officer responded to E. 3rd Street on a report of a suicidal female party. The party was contacted, medically cleared, determined to not be suicidal, and given resources.
On 10/11/21, Nederland Police responded to a disturbance. When officers arrived, it was determined it was a medical incident and medical services were called.
On 10/12/21, Nederland Police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, one of the involved parties left the area. The incident was investigated and a report completed and the suspect was issued a summons.
On 10/14/21, a Nederland officer returned a dog at large to Alpine Drive in Nederland. The owner of the dog was summoned to appear in Nederland Municipal for Animal Running at Large because this dog has been at large at least five times in recent months and had to be returned by the Nederland Police Department each time.
On 10/15/21, a Nederland officer conducted a Civil Standby on W. 3rd Street and S. Jefferson Street. The same officer followed up with information regarding the civil issue at the B&F Market Place on 10/16/21 at 12:02 p.m.
On 10/17/21, a Nederland officer was dispatched to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash near the 200 block of S Jackson Street. BCSO deputies responded to cover. Three parked vehicles were struck and damaged near the 50 block of W Boulder Street. The Nederland officer apprehended the suspect in his vehicle when he crashed into the trees near the 200 block of S Johnson Street. The suspect was arrested, transported to the hospital, charged with driving under the influence, prohibited use of weapons, reckless driving, and three counts of failure to report on an accident involving damage.
On 10/23/21, Nederland Police investigated a report of a dog being shot by a neighbor the previous morning, causing substantial trauma and requiring emergency surgery the following day. Initial investigation indicated the projectile is a pellet, not a bullet. This is an open investigation.
On 10/23/21, Nederland Police assisted the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), and the Colorado State Patrol with an injury crash in the area of mile marker (MM) 41.5, Highway 72. State Patrol handled the investigation and documented the case.
On 10/25/21, a Nederland officer was dispatched to Alpine Drive, where they contacted a female party. The male had walked away before the officer arrived. The female party had reported that the male party destroyed the rear window of her vehicle and scratched the truck lid and attempted to take her phone after she stated she was going to call the police and took her keys out of the ignition of her vehicle. The male party later returned to the residence and where he was arrested.
On 10/26/21, Nederland Police were dispatched to Teens Inc. / Chinook West for a student found in possession of marijuana. The student was issued a summons to Nederland Municipal Court.
On 10/26/21, a Nederland Officer received a complaint of a dog at large in the area of Big Springs Drive and Pinecliff Trail. The dog had reportedly been seen a couple times earlier in the day. Later on in the day, the officer located a rust colored small Rhodesian Ridgeback. The dog resides on Alpine Drive. He is frequently out, and has been returned home by Nederland Police several times in the last year. The owner was eventually cited for Dog At Large.
On 10/29/21, the Nederland Police Department assisted the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office in the town of Eldora on a domestic dispute which resulted in an arrest.
