On 5/1/21, Nederland Police were contacted about a fraud incident. The Nederland Police Department investigated and completed a report.
On 5/1/21, Nederland Police responded to a report of an assault in progress. Synopsis was 3rd Degree Assault on a 67-year-old male who was struck after a verbal altercation at the B&F and the Kwik Mart. The suspect is not identified. Case will be inactivated if no suspect leads are developed.
On 5/5/21, Nederland Police received a report of theft of property. An Officer responded, investigated, and completed a report.
On 5/7/21, Nederland Police responded to a report of an unresponsive male. The male was located and found to be impaired. The male was transported to detox.
On 5/9/21, Nederland Police was dispatched to East St. on a report of harassment. Dispatch advised a woman was yelling and painting the area near the Teen Center and Skate Park.
On 5/9/21, Nederland Police contacted a contact for attempted auto theft. Suspect had three warrants, two out of BCSO, one for Felony DV / Auto theft, and the other for contempt of court, total bond of $6000. Jefferson County warrant was not accepted at the jail. Suspect arrested for 1st degree criminal trespass, criminal attempt, and criminal mischief to the vehicle, along with the warrants.
On 5/7/21, Nederland Police contacted a female resident regarding possible domestic violence after receiving a phone call from a concerned neighbor. The female resident was offered resources, and the department is investigating further.
On 5/15/21, Nederland Police assisted Nederland Fire on a medical call on Forest Rd. A female was transported to further medical care without incident.
On 5/17/21, Nederland Police responded to cover a Boulder County Sheriff near the 37500 block of Hwy 72 in the Gordon Gulch area of the National Forest. While assisting the Deputy on scene, it was discovered a female present had active warrants for her arrest. The female was taken into custody and transported to the Boulder County Jail without incident.
On 5/17/21, Nederland Police investigated a complaint of sexual assault and unlawful distribution of marijuana to a minor that occurred in the Town of Nederland. The reporting party identified themselves as a minor but, in fact, was 18 years old. This is an ongoing investigation.
On 5/18/21, Nederland Police was contacted about violations of the Nederland Town Code. They investigated and issued a warning notice.
On 5/19/21, Nederland Police was called to a report of stolen prescription medication. An Officer investigated and completed a report on the incident.
On 5/20/21, Nederland Police investigated a debit card fraud that resulted in $344.53 of charges in the Broomfield area. The victim’s card number was stolen, not the card itself. There is no suspect information.
On 5/22/21, a Nederland Officer received a phone call regarding harassment on E. 2nd St. After speaking with the female victim, it became evident that another female was harassing her. The female suspect was identified, and the Nederland Police Department has harassment charges pending for the suspect.
On 5/23/21, Nederland Police Department conducted a welfare check of a male who was reportedly making suicidal/homicidal statements in early
2021 at a residence in Nederland.
On 5/23/21, Nederland Police responded emergent to the 31000 block of Boulder Canyon (Hwy 119) for an outside agency assist. Initial reports were of a severe injury accident with possible fatalities. Upon arrival, Nederland Police Officers provided aid to victims of the crash, assisting Fire and Medical Personnel and providing scene security. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, various local Fire Departments, and emergency medical services responded. Colorado State Patrol took incident command upon their arrival and did the primary investigation. One male victim was pronounced deceased on scene, and two females were transported with serious injuries.
On 5/24/21, Nederland Police responded emergent to McMillen Way on the report of an injury accident. Upon arrival, a very mild property damage accident on private property was found. A female was contacted in the residence and transport for medical reasons unrelated to the crash.
On 5/24/21, Nederland Police responded to The Nederland Post Office after receiving a report of a male parked in his car in need of a welfare check. It was reported the male might be abusing substances and needed medical aid. Upon contact, Nederland Officers found a dangerously intoxicated male that had fallen asleep in the driver’s seat of his car. The vehicle was not running and there was no evidence of a crime. The Nederland Fire Department responded and medically cleared him. The male was then transported to the Addictions Recovery Center (ARC) at 3180 Airport Road in Boulder where he was able to receive treatment.
On 5/29/21, a Nederland Officer responded to Pinecliffe, Colorado, on an outside agency assist for the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office. Nederland Police Officers were the first to arrive. They contacted the intoxicated and suicidal juvenile male and secured him. Gilpin County Sheriff’s Deputies and medical personnel responded shortly after and were able to offer the male resources.
On 5/30/21, Nederland Police responded to S. Jackson St on a report of a civil issue involving a neighbor. Nederland Police Officers spoke with the victim. The victim showed a recently killed snake hung from the bed of her pickup truck. Nederland Police Officers did an investigation and neighborhood canvass to find out who hung the snake from the victim’s truck.
On 5/30/21, a Nederland Officer responded emergent to Hwy 72 on a report of a male party overdosing on narcotics. Initial reports were that the male was vomiting and sick. Upon arrival the Nederland Police Department contacted the male and were able to make the scene safe for Nederland Fire Department medical personnel to treat and transport the male.
