On 6/1/22 at approximately 12:46 p.m. a NPD officer responded to a downtown parking lot to a report of a property damage accident. The two involved parties exchanged information and one requested an informational report.
On 6/1/22 at approximately 12:16 p.m. a NPD officer responded to a business on a complaint of a trespasser. The suspect was no longer present but was later contacted by BCSO Deputies and the Nederland Officer. The business declined to press charges. Later that evening the same individual trespassed at a private residence in unincorporated Boulder County. The Nederland Officer and the BCSO Deputies responded and spoke with the victim who wanted to press charges. The Deputies and Officer searched the area and found the suspect who was then arrested and charged with trespassing.
On 6/9/22 the NPD investigated a parking complaint in the Town of Nederland that resulted in a vehicle impounded by Marv’s Towing. The vehicle was abandoned in the roadway, causing a hazard and an obstruction and had fictitious plates. The suspect is known and a Summons is pending.
On 6/11/22 at approximately 9:05 a.m. a NPD officer responded to an Outside Agency Assist involving a property damage accident on Highway 119.
On 6/14/22 the NPD investigated a criminal mischief that occurred in the Town of Nederland. Partial suspect information was obtained by a witness.
On 6/18/22 the NPD investigated a disturbance between a male and a female which occurred in the Town of Nederland. The investigation led to the custodial arrest of a male suspect who was charged with First Degree Assault, Attempted Second Degree Assault, Strangulation, Third Degree Assault, Harassment, and Obstruction. BCSO assisted with this investigation.
On 6/26/22 at approximately 10:55 a.m. a NPD Officer responded to cover a BCSO Deputy on a welfare check. It was later determined that the initial address provided was incorrect and the party was at an address in town limits. The party was contacted and it was found there had been a domestic disturbance days earlier involving the party at the address. The officer is actively investigating.
On 6/26/22 at approximately 1:18 p.m. a NPD Officer contacted a party for a welfare check in the Town of Nederland. The party was determined to be suicidal and was voluntarily transported for an emergency mental health hold to a local hospital.
On 6/27/22 at approximately 1:07 p.m. the NPD responded to an outside agency assist on the western border of Nederland Town limits. Initial reports were of an illegal fire; the party was contacted and warned.
On 6/28/22 the NPD responded to an assault that occurred in the Town of Nederland. A male victim was attacked by a male suspect unknown to him. The victim and witnesses provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. The suspect was arrested for Attempted Murder and Assault in the Second Degree with a deadly weapon after a warrant was obtained by the NPD. The BCSO and the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office assisted with this investigation and documented their involvement.
On 7/2/22 at approximately 7:24 a.m. NPD Officers and the BCSO responded to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred in Nederland. The victim was transported to the hospital and the suspect was later arrested and charged. The Colorado Rangers also assisted with this investigation.
On 7/5/22 the NPD investigated a theft that occurred in the Town of Nederland. The suspect was known to the officer and later located and issued a summons into Nederland Municipal Court. The value of the item stolen was $7.99.
On 7/8/22 at approximately 2:00 p.m. a NPD Officer responded to a Nederland Park on a report of a person about to commit a DUI. The reporting party prevented the DUI and the Officer with a BCSO Deputy contacted the individual who was intoxicated and belligerent. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest and later transported to the Boulder County Jail.
On 7/9/22 at approximately 3:48 p.m. a Nederland Police Officer responded to downtown Nederland on a report of an vehicle/pedestrian accident. The driver remained on the scene and offered assistance to the pedestrian who was transported to the hospital for further treatment as a precaution.
On 7/9/22 at approximately 6:00 p.m. a NPD Officer contacted an intoxicated male sleeping in the garden of a local resident’s home. The officer contacted the male who refused to identify himself and was verbally non-compliant. The Officer attempted to verbally deescalate the situation but the male got physical and tried to push past the Officer. The Officer and responding BCSO Deputies had to forcefully detain the male. The male was medically evaluated and housed at the Boulder County Jail on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
On 7/10/22 at approximately 8:40 a.m. a NPD Officer responded to the Nederland Community Center on a report of a cold hit and run. The officer took a report on the incident that caused damage to a fence railing.
On 7/11/22 the NPD investigated a reckless endangerment involving a child. The Department of Human Services was called in to assist and the child was removed from the parents care as part of a safety plan. Both parents were issued summonses into Boulder County Court for Reckless Endangerment.
On 7/14/22 at approximately 2:46 p.m. a NPD Officer responded to an assault downtown. The officer determined the reporting party was in fact the suspect and they were later arrested for menacing and trespassing.
On 7/14/22 at approximately 8:22 p.m. a NPD Officer responded to a residence in the Old Town neighborhood on a report of a disturbance. The Nederland Officer and a BCSO Deputy spoke with a female party who stated she was only in a verbal argument and no crime was committed.
On 7/15/22 at approximately 11:57 a.m. a Nederland resident reported a cold Identity theft that occurred on the morning of 7/14/22 between approximately 6:30 and 9:00 a.m. at their residence in Nederland. The officer is investigating.
On 7/18/22 the NPD investigated a vicious dog-at-large complaint. A summons is pending related to this complaint and the dog is pending a police impound per a court order stemming from another existing case.
On 7/20/22 at approximately 9:45 a.m. a NPD Officer and a BCSO Deputy responded to a residence in Nederland for a deceased individual.
On 7/25/22 the NPD responded to a parking lot in the Town of Nederland to investigate a reported disturbance in progress involving weapons. BCSO responded from Boulder to assist. NPD arrested a male on warrant charges related Domestic Violence, Assault in the Third Degree, and Child Abuse. The male was taken to the Boulder County Jail where he was booked and lodged. The original disturbance investigation was referred to an outside agency for jurisdictional purposes.
On 8/3/22 NPD officers responded to a domestic violence call at the Tungsten Village Apartments. One party was arrested and transported to Boulder County Jail.
On 8/11/22 the NPD Investigated a report of a disturbance in the Town of Nederland which resulted in the arrest of an adult female for Third Degree Assault, Domestic Violence, and Harassment. The BCSO responded to assist.
On 8/15/22 the NPD investigated a road rage incident which resulted in an Assault in the Third Degree. There is partial suspect information known and this is an ongoing investigation. The female victim sustained a minor eye injury which did not require medical transport to the hospital.
On 8/17/22 the NPD investigated a burglary which occurred in the Town of Nederland. The investigating officer was able to identify a male suspect, interview him, and arrest him for Burglary in the Second Degree, and Theft. The suspect was transported to the Boulder County Jail where he was booked and lodged. There was an item of concern left in the building which prompted the response of the Boulder County Bomb Squad. It was deemed inconsequential.
