He reported to the officer that he had hitchhiked from Boulder and was taking the bus back down but would not give more information. The party became uncooperative and aggressive, making gestures indicating that he was about to get violent with the officer. Inspecting the vehicle, there was a significant hole in the rear back window with glass inside indicating it had been broken from the outside. The owner of the vehicle reported spending all breaks from class at her vehicle and noticed the broken window during the afternoon break. The suspected illegal substance was delivered to the Drug Task Force along with confidential tips for further follow-up.

On 12/24/18, Nederland police responded to the Nederland Veterinary Hospital on a report of structure damage. Staff reported that the building had been closed since December 22, 2018 for the holiday and she personally could attest that it had not been damaged before leaving for the holiday. The officer observed the SW corner support beam of the structure appeared to have been struck by a vehicle multiple times so that it was broken in the center and dislodged from the base. There were tire tracks in the area consistent with that of a vehicle collision.
