On 8/2/21, a Nederland officer contacted a local minor for expired license plates 03/2020. The youth was driving on old owner’s plates, no insurance and license cancelled as of 8/2/21. Summons were issued to BCCJ.
On 8/5/21, Nederland Police responded to a residence on Sundown Trail for a welfare check to a possible suicidal party. The female party was not present but was able to speak to an officer over the phone and confirm she was not currently suicidal but seeking resources to help with mental health.
On 8/6/21, Nederland Police investigated an apparent road rage incident that culminated into the reported brandishing of a firearm. This occurred in the Town of Nederland with a continuing episode into the City of Boulder, terminating at McDonald’s on 28th Street. There was a delay in reporting to the Nederland Police Department. The Boulder Police Department assisted but was unable to locate the second vehicle. The other driver was identified through Nederland’s investigation and it was determined that no crime had occurred.
On 8/11/21, a female victim reported a vehicle trespass and theft of her wallet, driver’s license, and $40 cash. A Nederland police officer took a report. RP later found her property; the case was closed as unfounded.
On 8/12/21, Nederland Police investigated a disturbance that occurred in the Town of Nederland. The investigation stemmed from a complaint of trespass by one caller and a complaint of assault by the second caller. The investigation resulted in a male being charged via felony summons into Boulder County Court for Third Degree Assault, Crimes Against At-Risk Persons. The assault victim was checked on scene by paramedics but did not require transport to a medical facility.
On 8/13/21, Nederland Police investigated a property damage crash that occurred on private property in the Town of Nederland. The parties exchanged information and an informational report was taken as a courtesy. No citation was issued.
On 8/13/21, Nederland Police investigated a property damage crash that occurred in the Town of Nederland. A delivery truck struck the box end of a building, pulling a piece of fascia off. Damage was under $300 and no structural compromise occurred. The parties exchanged information and an informational report was taken. No citation was issued.
On 8/14/21, Nederland Police investigated a dog bite, causing injury to an adult male that occurred outside a business in the Town of Nederland. The dog was placed on 10-day bite confinement, as the bite punctured the skin but did not require medical attention. Department of Public Health was notified and the dog owner was issued a Nederland Municipal summons for Vicious Dog.
On 8/14/21, Nederland Police took a report of an adult male who was feeling suicidal, depressed and had a plan. A Nederland officer contacted the male party, who was cooperative and wanted to be transported by LE and not ambulance. The male was transported to BCH and placed on a hold.
On 8/18/21, Nederland Police took a report of a victim’s credit card from a German bank that was compromised for $124.93. An unknown person made a purchase on Amazon Prime. As there were no leads available, a report was generated for the victim to have her loss returned to her. Case is closed.
On 8/18/21, a local shop owner came to the police department to report the theft of an artistic piece of clothing. The victim did not want any action taken at this time but wanted an informational report.
On 8/20/21, a Nederland officer responded to E 5th Street in Nederland on a report of a cold trespass. The officer spoke with the victims, determined it was a cold burglary and menacing, and identified a suspect.
On 8/21/21, Nederland Police investigated a report of a possible deceased party on a trail in the Town of Nederland. The area turned out to be private property (not a trail) and what the reporting parties believed to be a deceased person, was actually a mannequin.
On 8/22/21, Nederland Police took a report of Felony Menacing that occurred at Chipeta Park, by use of a firearm. Case is under investigation at this time.
On 8/26/21, Nederland Police took a report from a local business owner who reported a fraud that occurred. The reporting party/victim reported that a scammer called and claimed to be with the energy company. She was instructed to purchase a money card and transmit the information to the scammer, or the power to the restaurant would be shut off.
On 8/26/21, a Nederland officer responded to E Lakeview Drive on a report of a suicidal party who just overdosed on his prescription medication. The scene was secured, the party was cooperative and the Nederland Fire Department responded to the scene. The party was then able to receive treatment, and Nederland Fire transported him emergent to a local hospital to received treatment.
