Nederland Police Reports, April 2021

On 4/3/21, Nederland Police investigated a single vehicle crash that resulted in an arrest of a male driver for DUI, Failure to Notify Police of an Accident, and Careless Driving. The vehicle was not impounded. The male was summonsed and released to a sober party. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) assisted with this investigation and have documented this under their case number, 21-01661.

On 4/3/21, Nederland Police responded to a report of a traffic crash at the intersection of North Bridge Street and E 2nd Street.  A vehicle followed too closely behind another vehicle and struck it when the vehicle in front stopped at the traffic circle.

On 4/3/21, a 76-year-old victim reported he was not given $1,200 cash from a deposit at the bank. The male was unaware until he left the bank. Case status has been changed to lost property.

On 4/7/21, Nederland Police received a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle in the Big Springs area. The Nederland Police Department responded, located the vehicle, and contacted the driver. The driver was served a summons.

On 4/8/21, Nederland Police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle which they tagged on 4/1/2021. It was towed on 4/8/2021.

On 4/8/21, Nederland Police aided the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office in responding to a report of people shooting along Boulder Canyon. The shooters were contacted and detained until the Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived.

On 4/11/21, Nederland Police investigated a property damage crash that occurred in the Town of Nederland. This crash was on private property in a parking lot. The at-fault driver left a note on the vehicle they struck. The damage was minor.

On 4/12/21, Nederland Police were dispatched to a 3-year-old male that fell off the swing and was now in seizure. The child was unconscious while being loaded into the ambulance. Both parents arrived and followed the ambulance to the hospital.

On 4/19/21, Nederland Police took a report of a single car non injury roll-over accident in the 800 block of Highway 72. The driver had spun out rounding the curve in heavy snow and slick roads. The vehicle slid into the ditch and then turned over on its top. The driver did not sustain injury, and there were not any passengers besides two boxer K9’s that were not injured.

On 4/19/21, Nederland Police took a report from an adolescent female who reported possible domestic violence between her father and his girlfriend.

On 4/19/21, Nederland Police performed a welfare check on W Boulder Street for a male who appeared to be huffing (ingesting aerosol).

On 4/19/21, Nederland Police and Nederland Fire responded to a report of a woman’s two dogs who were off-leash, unable to be recalled, and harassing a moose for about twenty minutes. The Nederland Police Department was eventually able to recapture both dogs, and the moose left the area. The owner of the two dogs was cited for CRS 33-6-128(2) Damage or destruction of dens or nests – harassment of wildlife.

On 4/19/21, Nederland Police responded to an outside agency request for assistance with a disturbance between a male and female. Upon arrival the male had left and the female was unharmed. The domestic violence case was turned over to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office who continued the investigation.

On 4/25/21, Nederland Police investigated a man urinating on the side of a building in the Town of Nederland that resulted in a summons into Nederland Municipal Court.

On 4/28/21, a Nederland officer was dispatched to a report of an unresponsive male who was cold to the touch at 85 Wildewood Drive. The male was identified and was determined to be deceased on arrival. A Boulder County Coroner Investigator came and retrieved the body. Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Investigators were also called to assist with the investigation.

On 4/29/21, Nederland Police responded to a request for assistance from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office on a report of a disturbance and possible overdose. 

On 4/30/21, Nederland Police responded to a call for medical assistance that resulted in a warrant arrest of a male for three counts of Failure to Comply (FTC).
