It is with a heavy heart and incredibly difficult decision, I notify you all that I am resigning my commission as Chief of Police, for the Nederland Police Department. First and foremost, please understand that I have made this choice, based on many factors in my life. This was a hard decision I have not come to easily, however I have decided that a new path and challenges would be best for my family and myself at this time. I also want everyone to know it has been an incredible journey these many wonderful years and I will forever treasure and take with me the memories and friendships forged along the way, in my service to Nederland and with you all. It has been a true honor and a proud chapter in my life.

My final call for end of watch, as Nederland Chief of Police will commence on September 20, 2013. I am sure rumors may abound on who, what and why but again, this is of my own decision. I wish to thank all of the Nederland Town staff and board members for their support and leadership as well. As I am so very fond of western lore, I shall leave as saying "this is not goodbye, but just so long for a while my friends"!
