Sara Sandstrom-Kobi, Nederland. This year’s Nederland Middle School Nordic Ski Team is eight kids strong. The team is a mix of sixth, seventh and eighth graders. This is considered an Intramural team in Boulder Valley School District so the team practices for a month and then takes part in a culminating event with other BVSD middle schools.

Coach Billy Giblin says that the team works well together and is not afraid to try new challenges. They keep it fun. Coach says the kids are working on hills, “uphills, downhills and all around hills”. The skiers have worked hard and progressed well.

The middle school Nordic team has had a great season and has proudly represented the school. Some came to that first practice with no experience on cross county skis. All student athletes brought different levels of experience to the team. They will end the season with more skills and a sense of accomplishment. Congratulations to these middle school students.

This year’s team is Eliza Brundege, Teaghan Hartman, Mirabella Holmgren, Halle Peiffer, Polina Savich, Olive Strum, Grizzly Steuck and Ben Weber.
