Into the mist
The field was wet, the sky was dripping, the fans were cold and the Nederland Football team couldn’t catch a break last Saturday during the homecoming game, which was a big loss, 61-0. The Panthers are struggling to come away with a win as the team regroups.[/caption]
Dismal was the weather and dismal was the game, but not the effort. The Eagles outplayed the Panthers from the very first to the very last play. In the first period, Rocky Mountain grabbed 30 points which pretty much stopped the game. The mercy rule was applied at the beginning of the third quarter when there was a 40-point deficit. With the clock running, the game ran out of time.
Coach Beth Buglione says, “I’m proud that our team came out in the second half and played much better than in the first half. It would be easy to stop trying but our kids never do.”
Quarter scores:
0-30 0-14 0-15 0-2

The homecoming parade was a Hollywood theme and the Nederland students did their best to keep their Jurassic Park floats from heading downstream during the Homecoming Parade on Saturday. The seniors won the float contest with their Jurassic Park theme.

The 2017 reigning Homecoming royalty were honored at the Homecoming dance Saturday night.
