Mia Milwicz-Clanton is a Nederland local through and through. She’s been going to Nederland for school since kindergarten and has always loved the community that has guided her through that journey.
In ninth grade, Mia participated in volleyball. All throughout her high school career, she participated behind the scenes in musical theater as a stage and prop manager. In this job, she helped actors with their props, technicians with their cues, and certain diabetics with juices whenever their sugars happened to drop.
Now, Mia has come to the end of her high school journey and is about to start a new journey toward college. She plans on first attending Sacramento City College, in California, where she will attend pre- requisite courses for the majors that she is interested in. She then plans on attending an as-of-now undecided university, where she is planning on exploring the majors of Marine Veterinary Sciences and Geology.
The community of Nederland has supported Mia from the very beginning. From the friends that she’s made in elementary school and beyond to the family that has been there for her every step of the way. She knows that she has formed a community that she can depend on whenever she needs help. She is incredibly thankful for the support that she has garnered from this community, and she will miss everyone that has helped forge her path to where she is today.
The people and community of Nederland High School are something she will always be thankful for, and she hopes to make all of them proud of her as she makes her way through her new life.
Congratulations to Mia Milwicz- Clanton for graduating and for finding her own path in life. Good luck Mia!
