NEDERLAND — Costumes, libations, delicious eats, quirky art, and baby yaks: The 2026 Harvest Fest, Nederland Farmers Market’s (NFM) season-ending celebration, delivered fall-themed thrills and spooky season excitement over one of the busiest leaf peeper weekends in recent years.
On Sunday, October 4, the special market included many returning vendors as well as some fresh faces. The festival also included special attractions, engaging games and face-painting for kids, additional food vendors, local breweries and distilleries, and live music rocking the Eldora stage until 4 p.m.
The perfect autumn weather accentuated the vibes of the festival, as Nederland residents and lucky tourists mingled, shopped, laughed, and danced. The festivities were accompanied by the funky sounds of KC36 Orange Sunshine Band and fusion masters ATOMGA.
Festival revelers were treated to a cornucopia of choices of alcoholic beverages, from hot toddies and boozy hot chocolate from Ned General, to a watermelon mint sour from Howlin Wind.
Food offerings included the undeniable deliciousness of Susan’s Samosas, the hand-rolled delectability of Temaki Tornado’s sushi and sashimi, and fresh-roasted chiles from Peak Abundance, Nederland's food pantry.
The Carousel of Happiness offered entertaining carnival games for kids to check out, as Wild Bear Nature Center provided environmental and wildlife-based education.
A very special thanks to Market Manager Daizsa Caldwell, Programs Director Kipp Nash, to the NFM Board of Directors, and to the NFM volunteers who worked not only to make the Harvest Festival such a great success, but to make the entire 2026 market season so special.
Thanks as well to the market’s sponsors, including: Brickhouse Alpine Kitchen; The Caribou Room; Crosscut; Eldora; Elevated Impressions; realtor Jessica Fitzer; Ellie’s Organic Za’atar; Gold Dirt Distillery; Good People Tree Service; High Performance Earthworks; Hub Ned; Jetpack Stickers; Knotted Root Brewing Company; The Mountain-Ear; Mountain Goat Tees; Mountain Peoples Co-Op; Ned General; Nederland Downtown Development Authority; Nederland Veterinary Hospital; Salon House; Tadasana Mountain Yoga; and Very Nice Brewing Company.
