The Nederland Farmer’s Market (NFM) was in full effect with their Party in the Peaks event on Sunday, July 3, 2022. The event, perfectly timed with the holiday weekend, drew a huge crowd and featured over 60 vendors, as well as live music performed by Chuck Sitero and by Beans & Company that could be heard echoing throughout town.
Custom locally-crafted art, clothing, jewelry, and pottery were highlighted, as well as fresh-picked produce from Switch Gears Farm and The Jolly Radish Farm, as well as many others, including from the NFM themselves.
Prime cuts of meat and seafood were available from Buckner Ranch and Epick Seafoods, while there was also a variety of food vendors. There were savory delights provided by Esmeralda’s Tamale House, to healthy alternatives by Kaleidoscope Kitchen and FED (Farm Eats Direct), as well as sweet treats and baked goods from Salto, Kind Confections, and Strawberry
And, of course, visitors to the NFM could also enjoy the craft brews from local hotspots such as Very Nice Brewing Company and Busey Brews, as well as from Howlin’ Wind and Gold Dirt Distillery from Rollinsville.
There were several local contributors present, from the Nederland Fire Department, Nederland Community Library, and Wild Bear Nature Center. Local volunteers were present to assist members of the large crowd to keep our town clean, providing several stations for trash and proper trash separation.
The Nederland Farmer’s Market is located in the lot between 80 East 2nd Street and 85 East 1st Street. NFM continues on Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will continue on Sundays bi-weekly until Harvest Fest on October 2, 2022.
