Let’s make some noise!
Before the last bell rings to signal the end of the school year at Nederland Elementary kindergarten through fourth graders line up and start chanting and cheering for the fifth graders to come out of the building. When the fifth graders emerge from the school as students for the last time they are met with wild cheers. They then walk along the line of students, their friends, their siblings, their former teachers, and support staff for high fives and words for encouragement and farewell. It is a sight to see! It is a beautiful and meaningful tradition showing the fifth graders how much they matter at Nederland Elementary, how much they will be missed, and how we wish them well in middle school.
