Nederland boys basketball closes season

Alex Jaffe, Nederland. The Nederland High School boys basketball team wrapped up their season on Friday, March, 5th. The team trained hard and played even harder this season, but lost their final game against Heritage Christian and lost 38-50.

Prior to this, the boys played in ten games this season, most recently they played  Dayspring Christian on March 3 and lost 33-48. On February 26th, they played Twin Peak High school and lost 31-33. On February 25, the team played Lyons High and lost 26-44. On February 23 the team lost to Highlands High school 26-77.

The team has worked incredibly hard all season, and we can really see the point gap closing in recent games.

Junior Logan Delong says this “Basketball is a sport in which I find enjoyment and amusement to play. I don’t ever find boredom in the sport because there is always something new. Such as new placements of defending him and trying to plan out how you are going to get the ball in by adapting to the set of the play. My teammates are another thing which really helps the sport become a sport without them it’s nothing but a ball. This year we have gone up against some challenging teams but we will strive through them and be strong.”

Delong added, “The annoying thing this season is the fact that we have to wear masks and it’s harder to get our breath because the mask does restrict breathing. But overall I really enjoyed the season and my teammates are the people who really put it together.”

Great job Panthers, you all played hard. We look forward to next year as this young team gains more experience, strength and skills.
