With generous grant funding provided by Boulder County, Nederland Area Seniors is sponsoring summer fun activities.

The funding is to be used for activities that reduce rural isolation and depression in older adults through community events, activities, and outings. Long term outcomes from this grant award include improved or maintained health, increased connection, and reduced isolation (and to have fun).

Join us for some summer fun. Everyone is welcome! Free tickets are limited and intended for those with financial hardships.

Boulder County Area Agency on Aging (BCAAA). Responses to the needs of older adults (60+) and their families and individual caregivers in our community offering remote services. BCAAA resources are available by email at inforADRC@bouldercounty.org or by phone at 303-441-1617, Monday - Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm

Foot Care with Nurse Debbie Neal. Appointment required. Call: 303-258- 7768. Serving mountain community older adults toenail/skin care and a review of foot concerns.

Starting Again Soon! In-Service lunches and dinners, group physical activity and social dance classes at the Nederland Community Center. Call NAS office for re-opening details at 303-258- 0799.

Senior Meal Delivery Program. Cost: Meals are FREE to older adults 60+, living in the communities between Jamestown and Black Hawk. No financial qualifications required.

Donation: $5 is suggested per meal. No one 60+ years old will ever be denied a meal due to the inability to contribute financially.

When: Deliveries are scheduled once per week, Monday or Friday

What to expect at delivery: Volunteer drivers deliver meals. All drivers have had background screenings, as required by Boulder County Area Agency on Aging.

Your driver will knock on your door, set the bagged meals down and step back to respect your safe space. The driver will wait for you to answer before leaving. You will have the same driver each week. If you have a question about resources, ask your driver. Drivers are prepared to share COVID19 mountain resource information. Menu: Over 40 recipes prepared by Chef Dale. There is no set menu at this time, due to availability. Menu may include homemade lasagna, chicken bakes and beef casserole, minestrone, beef and vegetarian chili, lentil soup, shrimp scampi, macaroni & cheese, meatloaf, smothered burritos, crab cakes, grilled salmon with vegetables and baked cod tacos, and authentic New Orleans seafood jambalaya.

Each meal includes: Vegetable & fruit, whole grain bread, and protein (fish, chicken, beans, pork). Vegetarian & gluten free available upon request.

How many meals: Depending on your freezer space and need, you can request up to 5 meals per week. The meals are delivered frozen in BPA free, microwavable safe recyclable plastic containers. An average sized freezer can store 5 meals. Meals are delivered frozen in 4 oz, 8 oz and 16 oz containers.

Funding Source: Nederland Area Seniors is a non-profit organization that relies on volunteers and donations to provide community programming. The P2P meal delivery program is funded through Boulder County Area on Aging and the generosity of individual community donations.
