Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. The Nederland High School Cross-Country Team participated in the Legacy Rust Buster Invitational, the first meet of the season, last Friday, August 17. Eight teams, most of them 5A, competed.

Two Nederland boys represented the Panthers in a field of 124.


The Nederland girls came in fourth of eight schools and there were 99 participants.
Last October, NHS sophomore Helen Cross won the Class 2A state Individual Cross Country championship title at the Norris Penrose Event Center. At the time she said she didn’t think she was prepared well enough to grab a place on the podium. Her finish time was 18 minutes, 52 seconds.
On Friday, August 17, at the Legacy Rust Buster Invitational Meet held in Broomfield, Nederland High School Panther Cross eased into the season coming in 11th place and helping the team claim a 4 out of 8 team victory.
