Come one! Come all! Your Nederland Community Library is hosting two exciting workshops during Nederdays 2023. The library’s “Homestead Skills” events will take place on Saturday, March 25.

Between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., all ages are invited to pop in and test their sewing and drip-candlemaking skills. Participants will dip into beeswax and wicks, followed by making a bookmark using an aida cloth. It’s sure to be a fun and safe opportunity for little ones too. The library will be providing child-safe needles.

Hang out longer for the 12-2:30 p.m. soap-making workshop, using lye and goat’s milk to make a soap to take home and use. The workshop will be led by goat owner, Phylleri Ball.

Know before you go. The library will provide personal protective equipment such as goggles and gloves, but recommends attendees bring an apron or wear old clothes. Workshops are safe for adults, young adults, and teens but are not suitable for small children.

Space is limited for the soapmaking workshop. Sign up by visiting https://nederland.colibraries.org/ soap-making-workshop/.
