The NFPD is conducting a search for a new Fire Chief. The district has a number of stages that will process through to complete the search in a fair and open process.

• Stage I - Job Definition with required and desired qualifications

- COMPLETE

• Stage II - Advertise the position nationally to attempt to ensure diversity. - COMPLETE

• Stage III - Executive session for a Paper Review where the search team reduces the number to a manageable number for video interviews.

• Stage IV - Executive session for Zoom interviews with candidates. Goal is to clarify questions for the person and ask a set of questions that might distinguish some candidates.

• Stage V - Public phase where NFPD announces final 3 candidates.

This would include:

• Open Forums

• Candidates Bio

• Vision statements

• In person interviews

Demographics

• 27 candidates applied for the

position

• 14 candidates met all the required

qualifications

• 7 candidates met all the required and

desired qualifications

• 27 candidates identify as male

• 3 candidates identify as non-white

The next board meeting on November 17, 2021, we will start Stage III. Regular board meetings occur on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m., special meetings are also usually held at 7pm as announced.
