Music of the Mountains: The Two Tracks

This Wyoming-based band is bringing their flavor of Americana to Colorado!

LYONS - The Two Tracks has developed its sound as a band for nearly ten years now. The band recorded their self-titled debut in 2016 and is set to release their fifth album in 2026.

Julie Huebner, singer, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist, formed the band with drummer Fernando “Fred” Serna in 2013. The band cycled through many players before recording their first album, with Julie’s husband Dave joining the group during recording. The husband-and-wife duo now serve as the lead singers and songwriters of the band.

Dave, who also plays cello for the band, played classical music as a kid and has performed with many bands over the last twenty years. Julie graduated with an archaeology degree from Colorado State University and never intended to be part of a band.

The two started jamming together in the early days of their connection. They settled in Sheridan, Wyoming. The whole group—the Huebners, Serna, and bassist Taylor Phillips—find their roots and focus their playing in Wyoming.

Dave considers himself and Julie bluegrassers at heart, and the band describes their sound as a nod to 1970s Americana music. They’ve performed in various festivals across the United States and even across the world, performing in Dubai for the World Expo in 2022.

Dave feels their music connects to a wide range of people and hopes that his and his band’s performances can uplift audiences and allow them a break from the external stresses of the world.

The Two Tracks will be performing at Oskar Blues Grill and Brew, located at 303 Main Street in Lyons, on Friday, October 17, 2025, starting at 7 p.m. To learn more about the band and find their music, head to thetwotracks.com.
