The brand new band Rolling Harvest consists of group members that all know each other from various other bands and performances. Alexandra Schwan, Scott Coulter, and Adam Perry all met through Gasoline Lollipops, Jason Bertone is from Banshee Tree, Madalyn McCoy is from The Velveteers, and Hunter Stone has performed his own solo material for years.

Perry had gotten burned out from his various commitments, including being a parent, working in law, and writing music columns for newspapers and magazines, but after leaving Gasoline Lollipops, he eventually decided he wanted to have a band again. He wanted to form a group that would be able to perform but wouldn’t necessarily have to spend the majority of their time touring and recording albums. Eventually, he decided to gather this group of musicians together and create a tribute band for the songbooks of Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

Perry describes the band as adding a Colorado sound to the works of Dylan and Young, creating new interpretations of classic songs. Perry says there’s nothing like making music in front of an audience, as the instant feedback and engagement one gets from performing live is incredibly gratifying. He also points out that by playing the songbooks of two of the most iconic singer- songwriters of all time, people will often sing along and bring their own interpretations of the pieces to the live performance.

The number one most important thing that Perry hopes the audiences take away from the show is a sense of fun. With so many musicians gathering together and creating music on stage, they’re able to come together, create something engaging, and even make fun of each other when they occasionally make a mistake. He hopes that the audience will be able to feed off the energy that comes from the stage and that they will be able to enjoy reminiscing over such classic songs.
