Kajsa Teitelbaum, Brune Macary, and Christine Mallery have joined forces as a classical trio that helps raise funds for local non-profit organizations. Macary and Teitelbaum have known each other for a while, but it wasn’t until last year that Macary moved to Nederland and the two decided to start playing more together. Eventually, they decided they wanted to perform a fundraising concert to support efforts in Ukraine, so they contacted Mallery and asked her to join the group.

This first concert occurred at the end of May 2022, and before the three traveled for the summer, they decided to put another concert into their schedule. The first concert primarily focused on classical music that the group enjoyed and would be familiar to a broad audience. In contrast, the second upcoming concert will focus on classical music centered around the theme Dances from Around the World. Because of this, the group teases that one or two tangos might have snuck their way into the setlist as well.

All of the artists are classically trained, having played in various other ensembles and groups, but they have said they would be willing to branch out from classical and perform styles like jazz in the future. The group loves the connection they have been able to have with the audience, remembering that at the end of their first concert, an audience member commented that the show redeemed humanity for them.

They treasure the in-person connection with their audience even more after years of having digital concerts thanks to COVID and are thrilled to be able to have an in-person connection with them again. They hope that the audiences enjoy the shows enough that they’ll want to come back for more and spread the word around, and they hope that offering live classical music in Nederland will expand people’s repertoires and support local nonprofits in the process.
