Mr. Mark Vossler has been passionate about music for a long time. At the age of 14, one of his brothers introduced him to the guitar, and he started teaching himself how to play music.

He continued to play and teach himself music in college, even joining bands during that time.

About a decade ago, Vossler decided to pursue a career in live music to see what would become of it. The result was a discovery of a lifelong passion.

Originally from Connecticut, Vossler moved to Colorado over 20 years ago and has loved living in the state since. He has especially loved performing in Nederland whenever he gets the chance. He enjoys the vibe of the town and respects the interest in music that the citizens have.

Along with performing his own solo material -- mostly covers, but occasionally original material -- he performs in a band called Built to Last, a Grateful Dead cover band formed in 2014.

As well as the music of The Grateful Dead, Vossler particularly loves performing 70s singer-songwriter material, which he respects for being simple in chord structure and lyrics but unique in musicality.

Vossler also performs acoustic Grateful Dead material through his project Gratefully Acoustic. This involves him and some of his friends performing their favorite songs of the classic band.

Vossler loves performing live because he sees music as a communal experience. To him, music is not just made by the people playing the instruments, it’s also made by the people who encourage musical expression and are excited to see live performances.

Vossler is excited about performing in Nederland and is thrilled to be performing at Busey Brews.
