Brittney’s Blues at Busey Brews. Brittney Wagner migrated to Nederland just over a year ago, from the comfort of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There she learned to sing, songwrite, and play guitar. Traveling around the Appalachians, she performed in many bands, was a hired back-up singer, and experimented as a solo artist. Now that she can confidently call Nederland home, she has started to perform again. Her unique style of blues belts out with such grace, it’s an honor to hear her sing. This past June, Brittney broke the ice in Nederland and sang at Salto’s First Friday. Jon Ridnell (Blackdog) backed her up on vocals and guitar. Since then, she’s played at Gold Hill Inn, James Peak, and private parties. Now we get to listen to her again at the Grand Opening of Busey Brews (formerly James Peak), where Blackdog will fill out the sound. This party offers five custom collaboration beers and food specials, along with the live music. What could be better than blues and brews on a Saturday evening, especially when you can’t go down the canyon?
