Stephanie Andelman, Nederland. Switch Ghost is a gritty psychedelic rock band reminiscent of the 1970s era of classic rock. You might associate them with contemporary vintage sounding acts like The Black Keys and The Sheepdogs, but their experimental jams bring you back to The Allman Brothers and The Band. Their debut album, Switch Ghost, was released in 2016 and recorded at The Crucible in Eldorado Springs Canyon. While they prepare their second album, they are gigging all over Boulder, Denver and back up to Nederland. With their drummer being a Ned local, come and show support of their mix that will make you move.
A typical live show sees them making their way from guitar heavy blues rock songs to quirky dance numbers, with a healthy dose of spacey grooves and improvised instrumentals. A country-western shuffle might melt into a reggae bounce. A down tempo trance could give way to an arena rock sing along. Middle Eastern motifs collide with Viking funeral songs in a manner that is both familiar and foreign, while digital elements blend organically with analog tube amplifiers in a sound that is both traditional and forward-looking.
