As drivers head north on Highway 7, it’s impossible to miss the large wooden structure next to the Allenspark Fire Protection station. The building is a 1940s-era log structure, renovated in 2015. Today, it’s home to “The Old Gallery at Allenspark, Center for Community, Arts, and Visitors.”
Established in 2008, The Old Gallery (TOG) is a Colorado nonprofit. It may call Allenspark home, but The Old Gallery is a community and cultural arts center for the communities across the Peak to Peak region.
Yes, visitors can feast their eyes on incredible artwork, from pottery to jewelry and photography to paintings. But did you know that TOG is also an event venue for live music, private parties, wine tasting, fundraising, yoga classes, and more?
On Friday, May 26, 2023, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., TOG kicked off the season with a live performance by Cowboy Brad. He sang an array of original songs, John Denver songs, and even Gordon Lightfoot.
A cash bar was available, as was a lot of clapping, singing along, and laughing. The Hanging Basket Flower Sale event followed on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Stunning garden baskets were arranged in a kaleidoscope of breathtaking colors.
The gallery also provided free hot dogs and hamburgers during the Hanging Basket Flower Sale. By Memorial Monday, donuts from the Donut Haus of Estes Park filled the gallery with even more excitement - and hunger.
This season, TOG will be hosting a plethora of events, including a summer porch series, open mic nights, a Paint and Sip class, potlucks, bingo, and The Old Gallery Annual Gala on Saturday, July 8, to name a few.
If the Memorial Day weekend events are merely a taste of what The Old Gallery offers, it’ll go without saying that visitors are in for a real treat. Walking through the gallery isn’t only about feeding your eyes but heightening all your senses with the sights, sounds, and ambiance of a true Colorado Rocky Mountain experience.
The Old Gallery is located at 14863 State Highway 7, Allenspark. You can find them on Facebook at facebook.com/TheAPOldGallery or give them a call at 303-747-2906.
