Capricorn

Capricorn introduces the Winter Solstice to all of the signs of the zodiac. “Holly berries red and mistletoe white, now is the season of pure delight.” So many traditions find delight in the increasing light that will now appear: Pagans celebrate the birth of the Sun God from the Earth Goddess, Kwanzaa reflects on its shining candles, Chanukah commemorates a miracle, and Christians have the omen of a magnificent star.

The darkest night of the year leads to ever-increasing light for all of us. Jupiter, the optimistic planet, jumps into the party this year with its annual change of sign – from intuitive Pisces to exuberant Aries. The large planet asks these questions: What are your dreams? How will you make them come true in 2023?

Aries - Both the Winter Solstice and Jupiter jumping signs are great omens for Aries! The Solstice brings the turning of the wheel of the year and another season of adventures for all the denizens of the stars. The lucky planet, Jupiter, now enters your sign to enliven 2023 for you.

Taurus - Destiny continues to favor the sign of Taurus as we approach 2023. Venus, your ruling planet, is in diligent and hardworking Capricorn, one of your fellow earth signs. This indicates that through effort you will be able to expand your artistic approach to life and make progress.

Gemini - The Winter Solstice is the darkest night of the year, leading us into lighter and lighter times. The diligent mountain goat who keeps climbing ever upward is here to assist you with financial matters. This is an ideal time to look at your year-end money matters and make plans.

Cancer - Athena, the goddess of wisdom, continues in the sign of the Moon Children. Your opposite sign of partnership, Capricorn, is now in the center of the stars. Let's blend these two factors as you find that discernment and kindness are keys to furthering all of your relationships.

Leo - The lions welcome the mountain goats to the center of the stars. A theme for you over the past year has been helping those who need your guiding hand. An astrological shift at the Winter Solstice finds you having more time for yourself and projects that you wish to bring forward.

Virgo - The industrious mountain goat is one of your favorite signs; you are both down to earth and you both like to make progress in life. Your career continues to bring deserved rewards. The holiday season brings insights about the nature of life to you; this is a gift for you to unwrap.

Libra - Ceres, the harvest goddess, is your ally over the holiday season. You continue in balancing all of the corners of your life: relationships with others, your path in the outside world, the home you have designed, and perhaps even some time for you and your dreams to manifest.

Scorpio - Clarity abounds for Scorpio, as you climb to the top of mountains with your friend, the mountain goat. Take some time from your busy schedule to look back at the past year and forward into the next, because the fresh air at the top of the hill will offer clarity to you.

Sagittarius - The Winter Solstice is a power point in the turning of the great wheel of the seasons. This is particularly so for you this year, as your planetary guide Jupiter changes direction on this day. The large planet moves from intuitive, dreamy Pisces into action and goal oriented Aries.

Capricorn - Happy Birthday and Winter Solstice! You lead all of the zoo creatures into a phase of introspection. Janus, the god who looks into the past and then at the future, is the symbol for your month of birth. Creative Venus and intelligent Mercury are also visiting your sign.

Aquarius - The Winter Solstice marks the turning of the great wheel of life. Saturn, who brings lessons and life review, has been with you for over two years, and will depart your sign in March. This is the portion of the year when introspection allows you to prepare for the future.

Pisces - Miracles abound for Pisces, for you have been visited by both of your rulers, Jupiter of spiritual knowledge, and compassionate Neptune. This occurs every 165 years. You are now enlightened by this event, as we turn from the darkest night into the promise of spring.
