Dear Editor,
One of Allenspark’s favorite summer traditions is back!
The 13th annual Run Like the Wind 5K and Walk Like the Breeze 2K is set for Saturday, August 30, offering participants a scenic course through this charming mountain town. Hosted by The Old Gallery, the race welcomes runners, walkers, and dog joggers of all ages and experience levels.
In addition to the main events, participants and visitors can enjoy the ever-popular Dog Show, starting at 11 a.m., with categories like Waggiest Tail, Best Trick, Best Rescue Story, Best Stay, Owner Look-a-Like, and the crowd-favorite Fastest Peanut Butter-Licker. Dog Show entry is free with race registration or $5 for the public.
The race kicks off at 9 a.m., with check-in beginning at 8 a.m. Registration includes a commemorative race item, prizes for top finishers, and entry into the Dog Show.

This year’s event is proudly sponsored by Tree Huggers, Lyons Physical Therapy, Sunshine Mountain Lodge, Trailblazer, Rob Lewis of KL Realty, and Estes Park Pilates. Prizes include a two-night stay at the YMCA of the Rockies, Patagonia gear, and more.
