I am very excited to have accepted the position with Mountain Peak Life (MPL)/ Nederland area Seniors (NAS).

When my mom, Maggie May, first moved to Nederland she wanted to connect with people in the community and give back. She connected with Nederland Area Seniors and became the Vice President. Maggie May then served on the Library Board and the Food Pantry Board where she served and supported through fundraising and grant support.

I know Maggie is happy I’m here supporting this vital nonprofit.

I have over thirty years of work in the nonprofit field in both direct service as well as over ten years of management experience. I recently left my role at Emergency Family Assistance Association where I served for two years as their Children Youth and Family and Community Engagement department head.

I have been living in this community for 23 years and raised my 19 year old son, Quinn, here. I co-founded the Community Clothing Closet, served as the co-chair of the Nederland Mayors Human Service Task Force and started the first coalition here focused on reducing teen substance abuse. I love living in the mountains and in my free time I enjoy playing disc golf, hiking, camping, and high altitude gardening.

Elektra Greer may be familiar to many of you as the Director of our Nederland Community Library. If not, it’s time to meet her! Lifelong learning and community building are her passions and when she’s not curating great reads for our community, she loves to organize engaging events, speakers, and excursions that expand all our worlds.

Greer is a career educator, in both formal and informal learning environments (primary and secondary) and she has traveled to over 19 countries and has no intention of slowing down!

Nederland is the first place that’s ever felt truly like home, and she is excited to be able to offer her programming experience to NAS as a part-time activities coordinator.

Please send her your ideas for events you’d like to see hosted in our community. Suborbital flight? No problem! Dreaming is half the fun!

Andrea Cox is from Peru and moved to Colorado in 2012. She has over 25 years of experience in customer service and has been a Travel Specialist since 2006.

Cox has been involved with volunteer jobs in the community since her arrival in the country. However, this year she started formally working with NAS as a volunteer coordinator.

Andrea enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling and practicing Yoga, and she is a substitute teacher for Boulder Valley School District. She lives in Gilpin County with her son Liam and her husband Ryan. Come meet her during lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Community Center!

The MPL/NAS is located inside the Nederland Community Center at 750 Hwy 72 North.
