Dianne Flemming, Nederland. Looking back two weeks, to the prep for the annual Mountain Forum for Peace Yard Sale, feels a bit like a dream come and gone. A dream of community cooperation, of giving, and of gratitude for the thousands of items reused, repurposed and recycled. The thousands of dollars raised with the help of over 50 volunteers, will fund and grow peace and justice projects locally and around the world.

It’s phenomenal to see the community band together. Every year the Nederland Community Center is turned into a department store filled with everything a person might want or need. Even better, the prices are right enough for every family and individual to be able to shop. Organizations who have benefited from funds raised by the amazing yard sale are; Mountain Strong Families, Save Our St. Vrain Valley, El Centro AMISTAD, Joan Gono’s Orphanage in Guinea, Liz Caile Express Your Peace Contest, FairShake.net, Nederland and Gilpin Seniors, Right Relationship Boulder and NCPC Socks and Sandwiches.

There is no thank you big enough to express the gratitude for support given by the Nederland Community Center, the many neighbors who brought their quality and gently used donations and the shoppers. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the best volunteers a non-profit could hope for. They sacrificed personal time to make this the best yard sale ever.
Thanks a million to all!
