Mindy Leary has lived in Gilpin County for 16 years. She lives with her two children who were both born at home. She has written for The Mountain-Ear for more than four years, covering government and Timberline Fire meetings and news; she also writes feature stories for the paper.
Mindy graduated from Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania in 2000 where she participated in creative writing and a creative writing website. She also graduated from Colorado College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and a minor in Metaphysics.
Mindy loves skiing, live music, yoga, and roller skating – sorry, Mindy, no roller skating in Ned. Yet. She enjoys reading science fiction books. Being part of The Mountain-Ear family has brought her closer to some of her passions.
She has owned and operated a windshield repair business since 2009. Many of us in the community are grateful for her time and talent with her windshield repair business. Mindy also has owned a gem and jewelry business since 2005.
