Greetings! My name is Mindy Leary and I live in mid-Gilpin County. I started working for The Mountain-Ear in November of 2017. I have covered calendars, government and board meetings, events and holidays. I first read the paper when I moved up here in 2005, and fell in love with it. There’s always so much going on and so many interesting stories to tell and read.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy from the Colorado College in Colorado Springs. I did field studies at the Tucson Gem Show and at the religious institutions in Crestone, Colorado.
I have two children, Ezra and Evelyn, who attend Nederland Middle/Senior High School. I have two cats named Zion and Bizzy Bo, as well as a bearded dragon named Zilla.
My other jobs include repairing chips and cracks in windshields, driving for Lyft and Uber, and making jewelry. My hobbies include skiing, yoga, meditation and live music. My favorite place to ski is Eldora of course!
The vision I have for The Mountain-Ear is to continue delivering high quality news and articles for the people in the Peak to Peak region.
