Susan Kelly, Nederland. The Nederland Area Seniors, under the direction of Nicole Cavalino and manned by an outpouring of volunteers, continue to provide meals for seniors despite the COVID-19 outbreak.
When community lunches at the Nederland Community Center were cancelled, seniors were able to order a lunch and pick it up without even getting out of their car. However, the CDC now suggests that older adults should stay at home as much as possible. Therefore, starting Monday March 23, all senior meals will be delivered. Meals will be delivered one weekly, either Mondays or Fridays. The meal delivery reservation hotline is 303-258-0799. The suggested contribution is $5, but for those over 60, no one will be refused a meal based on their ability to contribute financially.
