I write the “Diversions” column for The Mountain-Ear. I like to write and shared some humorous writings with The Mountain-Ear years ago, and it grew from there. My piece, “Our Friend, the Mountain Lion” may have appeared several times. I like making people laugh. Making people think.

My passion is drafting clear legal documents and helping clients resolve disputes arising out of poorly drafted documents (or the lack of any documents at all).

I like to write satire and humor, but often write about political issues. While I sometimes write stories about local residents, I also write on those political issues impacting the community.

I enjoy sharing what I write, and for each polarizing political piece, I try to balance it out with a non-political humorous piece that hopefully causes others to smile.

I lived in Nederland from 1995 to 2016, and now I and my My Irish Wolfhound “Astro” alternate our time between Colorado and an undisclosed, secure location, possibly the North Korean Consulate.

In 2022, Gov. Polis appointed me to the Colorado Combative Sports Commission, formerly known as the Colorado Boxing Commission. I also serve on the Board of a Boulder nonprofit that offers violence prevention training.

I like the paper as it is and hope to honor my commitment not to write anything that gets the paper sued.
