Reluctantly crouched at the chow-chow line

Stomach rumbling, it’s eatin’ time

The kennel door opens, my ears go up

Barking and spinnin’ I dance for the grub

I deftly maneuver and muscle for rank

Chow burnin’ fast in my empty paunch

Reckless and wild, I race through playyard turns

My prowess is potent and secretly I yearn

As I run through the forest, the balls rolls behind

His arms raise up, I cry, Get me out into town!

The kennel is now empty, except for one dog

Still ridin’ a'pantin’ as eager I am

The sun’s gone down and the moon’s come up

And long ago somebody left me alone

But he’s drivin’ and strivin’ and huggin’ the pups

And thinkin’ of that dog for whom he still burns

I’m runnin’ the distance

I’m goin’ for speed

I’m all alone, yes all alone

In my time of need…
