Lois Claire Cawlfield (Hood), of Kent, Washington, born in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to Elias Edward and Eva Elvira Hood (Dickenson) entered the arms of her Savior on the morning of December 8, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Priest, brother
Harold Hood and her son Jonathan
Dickson Cawlfield.
She is survived by her three children; Andrea
R. Hartman (John) of
Kent, Washington;
Kathleen (Kacey) L.
Beres (Cawlfield) of Kremmling, Colorado; Scott Cawlfield (Taryn) of Louisville, Colorado. She leaves behind four grandchildren; Christopher Hartman and Benjamin Hartman;
Emilee Cawlfield and
Tyler Cawlfield. She is also survived by four nephews and one niece and their families as well as numerous friends in Colorado and New Mexico.
Lois was a graduate of Lakewood High School (1956); was a Girl Scout Leader in Lakewood, Colorado, and was well known in the Glenwood Springs area as a talented seamstress. She had the honor of being chosen to make drapery for the Hotel Colorado. While living in Grand Junction, Lois worked as an Administrative Assistant at Birdwell and Seismograph Service Corporation.
Her greatest achievement was raising four children and pushed them all to be independent as she was with a strong work ethic. She would follow through with her promises, made holidays memorable and was a very witty and thoughtful woman. Her children will always remember her one phrase that will echo in their heads as they left the house, “Remember who you are!”
Lois had a love of books and movies and had an extensive collection of both. She also had an appreciation for American Indian History and a huge love for birds of prey.
The family will have a celebration of life in Colorado in the summer of 2022 and will spread her ashes at her request.
