Several businesses in the Peak to Peak area were broken into and robbed during the night and early morning hours in the last two weeks. Businesses included Ned’s, Kathmandu and Ubon Thai in Nederland, Roy’s Last Shot in Gilpin County, the Wondervu Cafe, Canyon Coffee and the Kwik Mart in Coal Creek Canyon.
Most of the businesses have had cash stolen, including the cash boxes in several instances. Several have cameras on the premises and have turned over video to the authorities.
According to business owners, they can confirm break-ins, but law enforcement has forbidden them to discuss it.
The Mountain-Ear will update this story as more information becomes available.
