Ann Marie Morgan, Nederland. Nederland Lions Club hosted the 2020 Peace Poster Contest virtually on November 10, 2020. Nederland Middle Senior High School art teacher Theresa Redmon worked with students to create a virtual slide show of their posters. The artists and their families along with Lions Club members and community judges, Patricia Dohn and Cindy Goodrich took part in the event.
The Lions Peace Poster contest is open to students ages 11 to 13. Posters are judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme. This year’s theme was “Peace through Service.”
First and second place prizes were awarded to Abby Hess and Dean Howell respectively. Congratulations to all of the young artists who participated! Abby’s first place poster will advance to the district level of competition. We wish her luck!
