Levit Street Market resumes Memorial Day weekend

Posted

I love talking about summertime, when we just got a big snow/moisture event. That means we will have a bright green spring and the summer events will be special this year. One of my favorite summer events is this year’s Levit Street Market. The market will run every Sunday starting May 29 through September 25, and the fun starts at 11a.m. and goes till 4 p.m.

The Market concentrates on showcasing vendors that are “makers” who can demonstrate their craft or skill on-site. They regularly have a food truck (usually JKQ) and other food providers, including produce and other items from the Holistic Homestead.

Some of the vendors at the Levit Street Market are Katerina Burnham’s Wild Bergamot Soap, providing bath and body essentials, handcrafted in the mountains of Colorado. Eureka Street Popcorn, run by owners Jonathan Hays and Brian Cook, serves up handcrafted popcorn, popped in the historic Teller Law Office in Central City.

You can also experience a variety of foods for everyone, with experience cooking for specialty diets, at Mountain Goat Catering, with owner Rachel Josselyn.

Don’t forget to check out Jen Molo Pottery at Elevated Ceramics, handcrafted in the Colorado Mountains, who offers classes and private lessons. And stop by Cheryl’s Melting Pot, showing 100% handmade and all-natural oils, lotions, and candles. (Also jewelry and other items) produced locally with love.

The market also hosts live music all summer, provided by Robby Wicks, Jimmy Lewis; other local musicians are featured from time to time.

You will find the Levit Street Market at the 300 block of Gregory Street in Central City. Look for their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ levitstmarket. You can also email julesk@levitstreetmarket.com.
