Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County. A steady flow of guests lined up at the buffet at Roy's Last Shot on Saturday afternoon, July 26, filling their plates and then the donation jar.
The benefit for the Gilpin County Food Bank, thanks to the generosity of Roy and Barbara Stewart, made everyone feel grateful for the bountiful buffet, made them open up their hearts and wallets to help others get through a day or a week.
Kevin Walsh held up a box brimful with currency and said the benefit was indeed a success although they hadn’t had time to count the money yet.
The Gilpin Food Bank in the Justice Center is open Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to any Gilpin resident in need.
