Skiers and boarders flocked to Eldora for the final day of the season last Sunday. The sun was out and riders were sporting their best spring outfits, with some wearing hardly more than gym clothes. The snow was dwindling, but stuck around just long enough for a solid day of carving turns.
“It was awesome out there, the snow was really soft, not bad at all” said Zac Livingston, who brought his four-year-old daughter, Lauren, to the slopes to enjoy the last day.
Almost all of the mountain’s trails were open and the glades were in February form. Après ski tailgating was out in full force after the long day on the slopes. Locals, visitors, families and friends alike joined for a sprawling gathering of music and celebration.
“I don’t really want to pack it in yet, but that was a gnarly way to top it off,” said Justin Desmond.
Looks like it is time to get ready for next year.
