Dear Editor,
I have become increasingly disenchanted with Nederland's process in buying Eldora. There has been little transparency and by now I would have thought the town would have at least been in conversation with its Sustainability Advisory Board about critical issues related to being responsible for Eldora ski operation and planning.
It seems there is an unnecessarily adversarial relationship with that group. I believe the concerns for sustainability are ones we all share as town area residents. I believe the town has a sustainability coordinator on staff, but therein is a possible conflict of interest.
In all the excitement of this new possible acquisition perhaps we should open up the discussion more fully with town and area residents for whom the town staff work.
