Dear Editor,
I keep hearing people "complain" that we don't have a "local" police department.
As a full-time resident, I would like to praise the efforts that have been shown here by the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. They are trained far more efficiently than a local department could hope to achieve, have the resources needed to support our community, and have proven to be quite effective, despite having a delay in the full-time staffing needed.
Previously we had a local force that was usually slower in responding to the needs of the community than BCSO, and had high turnover rates, requiring new training and less effective staff.
Keep It Simple Folks! This is working and I am grateful for the decision the BOT made.
