NEDERLAND — Since the late 1970s, three historic train cars have been a beloved part of Nederland’s landscape, attracting both locals and visitors. More than a century old, each car has its own fascinating history and story to share.

The coffee, kava, and donuts served there are only part of the charm of the train cars. It is a complementary setting for the images of local flora and fauna that Kathy Bremers paints. Bremers has been pleased to share her artwork with patrons since 2010.

Her musical bear series has found happy homes around the world as visitors have resonated with their joy.

Bremers began her painting journey in 2005 when she joined a local women's watercolor painting group. Over the years, she has enjoyed displaying her artwork and teaching watercolor painting throughout the Peak to Peak region.

“My paints, paper, and brushes call me to come and explore! A loving family, extraordinary mountain community, and the beauty of nature drive the inspiration for my art,” Bremers says.

Bremers believes that watercolor is a lovely medium for expressing the precious life we are surrounded by.

She thanks everyone for their support, stating, “I hope it works the way I have presented the information. This is more to feature my art as the stop at the Train Cars. Happy to answer any questions.”

Kathy currently teaches weekly watercolor classes in Coal Creek Canyon.
