Monica LaSalle, Central City. In an unprecedented 3 plus hour meeting, the Central City Council considered three resolutions on Tuesday, April 16. This included major discussion surrounding the Morrone Ranch/Gold Mountain Development Agreement dated May 17th 2011. Debate turned hot between Alderman Jack Hidahl and potential new developer partner Phil Devon over discrepancies in original agreement and commitments versus encouragements written into the potential new agreement.

In other news, the council considered a resolution to approve a professional service agreement with Miller Engineers, Inc., doing business as Souder, Miller & Associates, with presentation from Public Works Director Sam Hoover. Another resolution on the agenda for last night was addressing a sidewalk safety issue initiated in early March by a member of council, with requested research again presented by Director Hoover.
Lastly, the council listened to a brief presentation from a representative from Colorado Division of Water Resources requesting a license agreement. Stay tuned next week for details!
Full meeting details will be in the May 2, 2019, print edition of The Mountain-Ear.
